In Bangladesh, many critical social issues, such as gender inequality, child rights, and public health, remain deeply rooted in communities due to a lack of awareness and education. These issues are often perpetuated by cultural norms, misinformation, and limited access to information.
Jonoshakti’s Social Awareness initiative is dedicated to changing this by raising awareness and educating communities about these pressing issues. We believe that informed communities are empowered communities, capable of driving change and challenging harmful practices.
Our approach involves grassroots campaigns, educational programs, and community engagement activities designed to spread knowledge, foster dialogue, and inspire action. By addressing these social issues head-on, Jonoshakti is working to create a more informed and equitable society.

For instance, The Daily Star (2020) reports that child marriage remains prevalent, with nearly 51% of girls married before the age of 18. Gender inequality and harmful traditional practices continue to affect the lives of millions, limiting their potential and infringing on their rights.
